What to expect from Veeam Training and Certifications

Veeam provides a single platform for modernizing backup, accelerating hybrid cloud and securing your data. It's a single platform for cloud, virtual and physical to meet all your needs. It helps customers on the journey to modernizing their backup practice, accelerating hybrid cloud, and adhering to data security standards and regulations. Veeam Technical Education Services currently offers two industry certifications to help demonstrate your ability to manage a company’s data; the Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) and the Veeam Certified Architect (VMCA). Holders of Veeam certifications have a deep understanding of Veeam Availability Suite, the critical functions required by an organization to actively protect their data and the ability to grow and adapt with an organization’s evolving data protection needs.

Q. How to become VMCE certified?

The VMCE certification is documented proof that an administer or engineer has the necessary level of expertise to protect an organization’s data with Veeam Availability Suite. Step 1: Attend an authorized training course. The three-day Veeam Availability Suite: Configuration and Management training course provides attendees a technical deep dive on how to configure and administrate Veeam Availability Suite. Step 2: Schedule your exam. To schedule a VMCE exam, login to your Veeam.com account and follow the link to Pearson VUE to find a test center near you. Step 3: Unlock your certification resources. Once you pass the exam, you will receive your VMCE certificate, digital badge and priority access to technical support.

To qualify to take a Veeam certification exam, you must attend the prerequisite class at a Veeam Authorized Educational Center (VMAEC).

Yes, an instructor-led class is a prerequisite for all of our current exams.

Certifications do not expire, but ProPartners may be required to update their certifications to remain compliant in the Veeam ProPartner program. Check your ProPartner program guide or reach out to your Veeam representative for more details on certification requirements in your region.

There are three ways that you can meet the prerequisites needed to sit in the 2020 exams: - Attend the prerequisite training course - Have evidence of your previous Certification - Have sat in the previous prerequisite training course within the last year

All certifications will now be updated by Veeam on a calendar year basis, rather than linking to Veeam Backup & Replication™ versions. Although the certification doesn’t have an expiration date, for compliance purposes, the ProPartner program will require partners to refresh their certifications every two years. This is regardless of when the new class/exam version is released; i.e., if a partner earns certification in May 2020, they are valid until May 2022.
